SMS has provided extensive support services and creative software solutions to the VA for more than five years on more than two dozen contracts. Through these projects, we have provided more than 125 employee and sub-contractor staff to support a wide range of VA programs including VistA, HealtheVet, FLITE IFAS, DoD/VA Data Sharing, FISMA SMART, and Enterprise-Wide Device Encryption. SMS developed over fifteen custom applications in the areas of manufacturing, sales force support, human resources, document management, and process management. Many of these applications are mission critical and these legacy applications will be integrated with a new Enterprise-Wide SAP implementation.
“We have worked with SMS on multiple development projects over the course of the last fifteen years. On each project they have taken the time to understand the current process along with existing issues and challenges that are targeted to change. Their development/implementation methodology is thorough and has ensured that what was delivered is what we expected. SMS employees understand the sense of urgency of a manufacturing line and the importance of the systems that support the line. Their professionalism and dedication to complete the job on schedule and within budget is unmatched in the industry.”

SMS developed a robust e-commerce system for Gaylord which integrates custom developed software with legacy Oracle Applications. This Enterprise Internet application leveraged Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications along with custom code to provide a marketing tool that enabled web-based ordering, call center support, bar-coding, and product picking, packaging and shipping.
NAPHSIS hired SMS to build a nationwide "hub" that communicates with vital records offices across the United States to provide vital record information. The web service component allows a single point of entry for all agency requests routed to the appropriate state for processing.
The system is currently being used by Medicaid, Passport, OPM, and DMV and is being evaluated at several other federal agencies. The EVVE system won OMB's Pioneer award for eGovernment solutions and won NECCC's award for cost reduction and avoidance while saving the SSA nearly $51M annually.
“SMS has a highly skilled team that offers excellent technical solutions to challenging business problems. Their staff has been very responsive to the needs of NAPHSIS in designing, developing, and implementing the EVVE Nationwide System.”
