Systems Made Simple has been recognized as #310 on the list of America's fastest-growing privately held companies.

The Annual Inc 5000 listing is an annual ranking of the country's top fastest-growing, private companies and also features a special ranking of the top 10 percent of the list–the Inc. 500. This list offers the most comprehensive look ever at the entrepreneurial engine driving the U.S. economy in the fastest growing companies in America. SMS is proud to have been recognized in 2009 as one of the "innovative companies that are creating jobs, redefining industries, and shaping our world."

The list is ranked according to percentage revenue growth over a four year period. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of the starting calendar year, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, and independent–not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies–as of December 31 of the last year measured. Revenue in the initial year must have been at least $200,000, and revenue in the most recent year must have been at least $2 million.
