SMS sets sights on CMMI Level 3


Systems Made Simple, Inc (SMS), a respected provider of information technology (IT) solutions and services to both the federal government and commercial clients achieved SEI CMMI® Maturity Level 2 compliance related to our Software Development and Application Support product lines. "Achieving CMMI® Level 2 was a significant accomplishment for SMS and is a reflection of our ability to optimize our software development processes," said Systems Made Simple CEO Ron Fishbeck. "With the success of our CMMI® Level II project, enormous company growth and recent corporate re-organization, the timing is right to migrate to the next level of process development and improvement" noted SMS President, Al Nardslico.

The SMS CMMI® Level III Project Team began its planning efforts in November 2010. The Project team will be focusing on upgrades to Level II artifacts as well as the expansion of product lines that will meet CMMI® Level III compliance. That expansion will include our IT Services, PMO and Internal Operations product lines. Major Project Milestones, include:

  • Upgrades and New Process Development and Documentation (January-March 2011)
  • Internal Quality Assurance Evaluations (March-June 2011)
  • External CMMI Level III Evaluations (April-July 2011)
  • SEI Level III Assessment (August 2011)

CMMI® is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. This rating reaffirms SMS's continued commitment to best practices and standards throughout the organization, and leverages these to help its customers achieve their goals and objectives for information technology solutions.
